Getting There:
From Sydney CBD it takes 2 hours and 30 minutes express (non-peak hour) and usually there is a comfort break at the truck stop on the freeway at Wyong for 15 minutes so the total time is 2hrs 45mins.
This journey uses the Pacific Hwy to get to the freeway heading north and is a very busy stretch of road all of the time.
Now that NorthConnex Tunnel is open we can minus at least 20 minutes from this journey but we have to use 3 toll roads to achieve this.
Heading out of Sydney we take the Gore Hill Freeway and enter Lane Cove Tunnel and continue onto the M2 Motorway and exiting at Pennant Hills Rd to enter NorthConnex then onto the Freeway start our private Hunter Valley Wine Tour from Sydney.
This is only 1 set of traffic lights from the Harbour Bridge to Hunter Valley (using Hunter Expressway).
