Accredited minibus and coach hire to and from Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) — serving all Sydney suburbs and surrounds, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Luggage trailers, full-size coaches, airport shuttles and meet and greet services available.

Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport — known as WSI — is Sydney’s new major international airport, situated in Luddenham and Badgerys Creek, approximately 50 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD and 25 kilometres from Parramatta. The airport opens for passenger flights in October 2026, with cargo operations commencing from July 2026. Unlike Sydney’s existing Kingsford Smith Airport, WSI operates with no overnight curfew and no flight movement caps, making it a 24-hour gateway with the flexibility to accommodate early morning departures, late-night arrivals, and international connections at times that Kingsford Smith’s legislated curfew prevents.

Sydney Charter Bus Australia operates accredited minibus and coach transfers to and from Western Sydney International Airport for groups of all sizes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether your group needs a pre-dawn pickup from Parramatta for an early international departure, a late-night arrival shuttle from WSI to hotels across western Sydney, or a corporate group transfer between the airport and Norwest Business Park, we provide a confirmed vehicle, a qualified driver, and door-to-door service managed entirely by our own team.

No Curfew — What It Means for Travellers

Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport has operated under a legislated curfew since 1995 under the Sydney Airport Curfew Act 1995 (Cth), prohibiting most flights between 11pm and 6am. This has constrained airline scheduling across Australia for three decades. Western Sydney International operates under separate legislation, specifically the Airports Act 1996 and the Airports (Western Sydney International Airport) Act 2022, neither of which imposes a curfew. The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed: WSI will be curfew-free and operate every day of the year.

For travellers and groups, this means departure and arrival times that simply are not possible at Kingsford Smith. Singapore Airlines has confirmed a daily late-night departure from WSI to take advantage of this unrestricted scheduling. For groups requiring early morning international departures or late-night arrivals on transcontinental connections, WSI opens up itinerary options that have not previously existed from Sydney. For charter bus operators serving group transfers, the no-curfew status means our service must operate at all hours — which is exactly how Sydney Charter Bus Australia’s WSI transfer service is structured: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

✈️ Nancy-Bird Walton — The Aviator Behind the Name

The full official name of Western Sydney Airport is Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, announced by Prime Minister Scott Morrison on 4 March 2019 in honour of one of Australia’s most remarkable aviation pioneers.

Nancy-Bird Walton was born in Kew, New South Wales on 16 October 1915. At 13 she took her first flight at an air pageant at a local fair, in a de Havilland Gipsy Moth, and was immediately captivated. She took flying lessons from Charles Kingsford Smith’s school at Mascot, and by 1934, at the age of 19, had become the youngest Australian woman to gain a commercial pilot’s licence — and the first woman in any British Commonwealth nation to hold a licence permitting her to carry passengers. She bought her first aircraft, a Gipsy Moth, using a legacy of £200 from a great-aunt and a loan from her father, which she repaid.

In 1935, she was engaged by Reverend Stanley Drummond to operate an outback air ambulance service for the Royal Far West Children’s Health Scheme, flying nurses and medical supplies to remote communities in outback New South Wales and Queensland that had no other access to healthcare. She navigated using road maps, telegraph lines and fences, landing in paddocks dotted with rabbit holes, and never once had an accident in her entire flying career. She became known throughout the outback as “The Angel of the Outback.”

During World War II she became Commandant of the Women’s Air Training Corps. In 1950 she founded the Australian Women Pilots’ Association, serving as its president for 40 years. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1966 and Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 1990. She held her pilot’s licence until 2006, at the age of 90, and passed away on 13 January 2009 at the age of 93. Upon her death, her ashes were scattered from Tiger Moths over the Luskintyre Aviation Flying Museum Airfield. The first Airbus A380 delivered to Qantas was named in her honour.

Meet & Greet Services

For inbound group arrivals at WSI, our drivers can provide a full meet and greet service, meeting passengers at the designated arrivals point with signage identifying the group, coordinating the assembly of all passengers and managing the transfer to the waiting vehicle. For visiting delegations, inbound tour groups and corporate arrivals, meet and greet removes the uncertainty of finding a driver in an unfamiliar terminal. We monitor flight arrival times in real time and adjust our driver’s arrival accordingly where flights are delayed.

24/7 Operations — Early Morning & Late Night Transfers

Because WSI operates with no curfew, flights arrive and depart at all hours. Singapore Airlines has confirmed a daily late-night departure. Qantas and Jetstar will operate early morning and overnight domestic routes. The first international arrivals will land at hours that no transfer service structured around business hours can accommodate.

Sydney Charter Bus Australia operates WSI group transfers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including public holidays. A driver and vehicle can be confirmed for any departure time — 4:00am outbound transfers for early morning international flights, late-night arrivals at 1:00am or 2:00am for groups on overnight long-haul routes, or overnight freight and crew transfers. Quote your requested departure or arrival time when requesting a quotation and we will confirm availability and cost.

Luggage — Trailers, Bays & Excess Baggage

International travellers carry significantly more luggage than domestic passengers. Touring groups, inbound tour operators and corporate delegations often travel with multiple large bags per person, plus carry-on, equipment and group freight. Sydney Charter Bus Australia addresses this directly:

  • Luggage trailers — available for all minibus and small coach services where standard luggage bays are insufficient. Trailers are hitched to the towing vehicle and provide significant additional cargo capacity for groups with heavy luggage loads
  • Full-size coach luggage bays — all 34-seat midi-coaches and full-size coaches carry large underfloor luggage bays capable of accommodating the full baggage load of a large group without additional trailers or vehicles
  • 62-seat HI-CAP coach — the highest capacity vehicle in the fleet, with full underfloor luggage bays suited to large inbound tour groups and delegation arrivals

Please declare all luggage at the time of booking, including oversized items, equipment cases, musical instruments, wheelchairs and mobility aids. We will confirm the appropriate vehicle or vehicle plus trailer combination in your quotation. Excess Luggage Policy →

Airport to Airport Transfers

For passengers and groups who land at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (KSA) and have an onward connection from WSI — or vice versa — Sydney Charter Bus Australia provides direct airport-to-airport group transfers between the two terminals. WSI is approximately 45 to 60 minutes from Kingsford Smith under normal road conditions via the M5 and M7. This service is particularly relevant for inbound international tour groups arriving at KSA and connecting to domestic departures from WSI, and for outbound groups needing to position between airports.

Sydney Metro, North Shore & Eastern Suburbs

Groups from central and eastern Sydney travelling to WSI will generally have a longer road journey than those from western Sydney — approximately 50 kilometres from the CBD under normal conditions. Sydney Charter Bus Australia provides group transfers from all central and eastern suburbs:

  • Sydney CBD, Haymarket, Ultimo, Pyrmont
  • North Sydney, Crows Nest, Neutral Bay, Kirribilli, McMahons Point
  • Inner West — Glebe, Newtown, Marrickville, Leichhardt, Balmain
  • Eastern Suburbs — Bondi, Randwick, Coogee, Maroubra, Maroubra Junction
  • Northern Beaches — Manly, Dee Why, Brookvale, Frenchs Forest, Mona Vale
  • Northern Suburbs — Chatswood, Lane Cove, St Leonards, Hornsby, Turramurra
  • Sutherland Shire — Miranda, Cronulla, Caringbah, Engadine, Sutherland

Multi-suburb rolling pickup routes for groups with passengers at multiple locations are coordinated on a confirmed run sheet and quoted per the specific itinerary.

Corporate & Inbound Tourism

WSI’s location makes it the natural primary gateway for corporate travellers, inbound tour groups and visiting delegations based in western Sydney and Parramatta. Sydney Charter Bus Australia works with inbound tour operators and destination management companies to provide full-service arrival and departure transfers for groups of all sizes. All invoices include GST. Purchase orders are accepted. International and non-Australian based clients are invoiced in Australian dollars, with full prepayment required at least 30 days prior to the service date.

Airport Shuttle Services — Regular & Scheduled Runs

For organisations with a regular volume of WSI arrivals and departures — inbound tour operators, hotel groups, corporate accounts with frequent international travellers, sporting organisations and conference venue operators — Sydney Charter Bus Australia can establish a scheduled shuttle program. A regular run schedule, confirmed vehicle allocation, a nominated driver where required, and a standing account arrangement are all available for high-frequency clients.

Shuttle services can be structured as fixed-time departures from a single pickup point, rolling-route pickups from multiple hotels or residential addresses, or responsive pickups timed to specific flight arrivals. Discuss your requirements with our team when requesting a quotation. Shuttles and transfers service page →

Compliance, Accreditation & Why It Matters for WSI Transfers

Sydney Charter Bus Australia holds NSW Bus Operator Accreditation No. 39461, issued under the Passenger Transport Act 2014 (NSW) by Transport for NSW through the Bus Operator Accreditation Scheme (BOAS). All vehicles carry public liability and passenger liability insurance. All drivers hold current NSW Driver Authorities issued by Transport for NSW. We are a 100% Australian owned direct operator — we own and operate our entire fleet and employ our own drivers.

For group airport transfers, accreditation matters. A number of booking platforms and operators in the transfer market are brokers, placing your booking with unknown third-party operators whose accreditation, insurance and driver compliance you cannot independently verify. For a group arriving on an international flight at an unfamiliar airport, the last thing needed is uncertainty about the vehicle and driver waiting for them. With Sydney Charter Bus Australia, the vehicle and driver are confirmed at the time of booking, operated by us, and covered by our own insurance and accreditation. There are no third parties, no subcontractors, and no surprises.
